My first dead body

Well today we had a resident die. My work partner and I went to turn her in bed and the nurse came running down the hall to stop us.
We watched as they the other ladies at work washed and shrouded her. It was kinda creepy as her eyes wouldn't stay shut.

My New Cousins

So I went to my stepdads nephew's wedding. I met all these new relations. It was lots of fun! The dancing to Justin Timberlake, (Jennifer I still can't believe you dragged me out for that!!!), the drinking, the craziness of finding out that someone you were in cadets with is now your cousin(in law)!

So this is the new family I got. John is my stepdad. Raymond is John's brother. Joyce is his wife. Steven and Richard are Raymond and Joyce's sons. Steven got married to Lee yesterday. Richard married Jennifer Evans last year the week before my mom married John.
So mom pointed out Jennifer to me and i was like do you know what her last name used to be? so mom goes and finds out, comes back and tells me. I was like holy shit. i was in cadets with her like 10years ago.

I was introduced to the grooms side of the wedding party only pretty much. Tho i did briefly talk to the maid of honor about her feet. I was getting mom to take a pic of me and the single groomsman jumped in the picture! Turns out he is the CO of an air cadet squadron and works for prairie region. and since just me knows what that means unless ppl who read this were cadets... he's gotta a pretty cool job in my opinion. Jennifer kept telling me how much of great guy he is, adding 'not that we are trying to push him on you or anything' hehe.

so that was yesterday. New entry just for today next!

Scrubs

Ooh i love scrubs. the tv show. its totally not as good as greys but its still good anyways. i wish peekvid would get more videos of greys and scubs. this is the saddest episode. My Screwup.
speaking of scrubs, i think i need to get more. I need to go to marks work wearhouse and get some lowrise scrub pants. apparently they are really good and like don't cause issues.
anyways. i am rather bored. i made key lime pie and hamburger helper.

i must vent

K like seriously. Why must ppl in your life feel the need to do something for you? Especially when you have told them NO repeatedly!?!?!?!?
Came home last night to find everything in a new spot. I was warned that my house did get tidied up a bit, but well. This was a major reorganization. I spent this morning putting everything back where I want it to go. And this person has the audacity to wonder why I am pissed off at them!

Anyways. So work is actually starting to get to me. Last night one of the residents said to me, 'Im ready to go now,' and started crying. This person IS of sound mind. So I tell the nurse like Im supposed to, and the nurse looks at me like 'what am I supposed to about it?' That kinda ticked me off a bit b/c I don't if this person is still gonna be alive when I went to check on them later that night. I am not going to be overly impressed if they are not with us anymore today. Another resident keeps telling me 'I wish I was dead.' I ask the nurse/other staff if that was normal for them, No apparently for this person it isn't. Hmm well again, what do I do?

29 more days till Im a year away from being a quarter of a century old!!! Yeah I know, OK?

My first night on Evenings went really good. Apparently it isn't like that very much. We had close to full staff, which apparently doesn't happen very often. I think that Im going to like the staff and the residents, save for a few that are just cantakerous and mean.

I must apologize to Gina b/c last night I actually saw the nurse on duty do something other than dispense meds. Sorry G.

Anyways im off to watch Johnny Depp in 'the libertine'.... it looks good.. it better be good. I rented Good Night and Good Luck last night as well. It was actually very dull. :(

oh my goodness

Yesterday the landlords uncle came to install a new backdoor in my house. He was here for 12hrs. Today he has been here for 7hrs. STILL NOT DONE!!!!!!!!!! I came home and as soon as I got off my bike their freaking dog attacked me. I woulda smuckd the dog but (#&$@#(*!!!!! I want to eat and sleep and watch movies in peace and quiet. He is currently putting on the screen door. Then he has to put the mouldings around the door on both sides. Then replace the outside light fixture, then replace the bathroom light fixture. If he has to come back tomorrow I think I shall scream.

Anyways. Work was good today. I was on a different wing. There are only 2, which is nice. Nice to see different faces once in awhile. Monday I go on evenings for a week. Hopefully we aren't short like they were this week. this business of putting ppl to bed could be interesting.

So I go to cut off all my hair and I chicken out. I only got it thinned out. I have so much hair. Its so darn thick. Its still a pain in the ass so Im thinking Im just gonna leave it down and try to work with it instead of against it.

Well here's to 48hrs off all at the same time.

Well this is kinda exciting. I can apply for a rotation, pick up shifts so I can work full time hours at the new job which is totally awesome! YAY for me. Im gonna be a busy girl. Maybe instead of emergency medicine, I could take the Personal Care (Support) Aide course. Not really wanting to go in to nursing. I just dont' have the head for the science of it all. Probably should work some more.

K so my friend Gina, she has her own Dr McDreamy at one of her jobs. I don't think she's sleeping with him, but you never know... KIDDING!!! There won't be any McDreamy's at my job. The town drs are either older than dirt or married with children and just not that interesting to a chick like me :(

I must go change outta my scrubs and go get semi presentable and get my hair chopped off. I understand now why nursing type ppl like to keep their hair shorter. Might have before and after pictures to post later.

supposedly this is a glacier... not much left. you gotta like look really close in that valley. they said on the sign at the veiw point to come back in a few years and see how much its moved. It probably won't even be there in 5 years.


This is the first pic in MT. its a rest stop on the highway. I had to pee. But i was too scared that the rattlesnakes were gonna come up the hole in the outhouse that i just waited til great falls. with flush toilets.... Oh yeah... Thats my dad being brave. silly man







The night we spent in Waterton at the Crandal Campground, it was pouring rain when we started to set up. I think its pretty ghetto, i mean who uses a poncho as a tarp these days???? and notice the orange binder twine LOL...

numero uno

Alrighty so here is numero uno blog. apparently ppl wanna know whats going in my little world. Why? I have nooo idea. Crazy silly ppl!
So I offically started my new job today. I am offically a Care Aide at the Extendicare Viking. Exciting stuff. First time wiping someones bum other than my own that wasn't an infant.
Tomorrow I learn how to bath ppl. Hopefully no one goes crazy.
